The Journey Begins...

Thanks for joining me! This blog, “UPROOTED,” means so many things to me, and it can mean so many things for you. I have personally chosen to be uprooted from my city, my country, my family, my friends, my job and all things normal to take a position that will allow me to become a cultural navigator. As I navigate globally, my home will be in my heart. It is my identity. ethnicity. language. gender. culture. It’s the lessons I have learned along the way. Those things will NEVER change. The food, language, and culture will change from place to place, but my true self will never abandon me. My identity will be with me. In each country, they will give me a piece of them, and I will leave a piece of me. Through that experience I will be uprooting myself to become a more global citizen. You will live vicariously through my observations and experiences; I will explore as an anthropologist and work as a counselor for a group of high school students who dared to leave their comfort zones and learn through immersion. You will get to see pictures, meet friends I make along the way, and hear my personal reflections as I unpack this experience. I was made for this…ENJOY!
